Viola Davis is an American actress who graduated from Julliard in 1994. In 1966, she made her Broadway debut in Seven Guitars. She won a Tony award for her performance. Her film debut was in 1996 when she played a role in The Substance of Fire. She won a Tony for her performance in King Hedley II as well as an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for best supporting actress when she was in the film Doubt. She is the first African American woman to win an Oscar, Emmy, and Tony for acting.
