OUR MISSION
At Let's Celebrate Black Women (LCBW), we are ready for a change. Our student-led initiative is committed to increasing the number of Black females in positions of political power. We hope to change the status quo of a country which normalizes the political erasure of black women.
Our Mission is uplifting and amplifying the voices of Black Women, specifically in the political setting. Our goal is fighting for political equity, providing education of current and past events, and overcoming the challenges of systemic racism and misogynoir which is deeply rooted in American politics. Our vision #letscelebrateblackwomen growing from a hashtag to a political movement empowering black, female politicians.
We strive to create a community of Black Women advocating for political equity despite the challenges of underrepresentation and erasure. We work to change the status quo of a country where politics are dominated by white men. As the future leaders of America, we are dedicated to seeking modern solutions to current socio-political issues.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Madison founded Let's Celebrate Black Women in 2021. She noticed that African- American women were often overlooked in the media as a result of under-representation and lack of education. So, she founded LCBW in order to uplift & amplify the voices of black women. Madison continues to
use this platform to create an environment that is empowering to all. She enjoys working in the diversity field and truly has a passion for celebrating black women.
