Kamala Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986. She was elected as District Attorney of San Francisco in 2003, California Attorney General in 2010, and US senator in 2017. She established California’s first Bureau of Children's Justice with reforms ensuring greater accountability and transparency in the system. In her first senatorial speech she spoke out on behalf of immigrants and refugees who were under attacks. She is the first woman and the first African American to serve as Vice President of the United States.
