Jane Bolin

Jane Bolin was a trailblazer for Women of Color in law. She was the first black woman to graduate from Yale Law school. In 1939 Judge Bolin became first African American female judge. She ruled many family court cases and worked with Eleanor Roosevelt. She created program working with boys and young men with the goal of rooting out crime. Also, Judge Bolin ruled against assigning probation officers based on race.
